Sarah and Jay WhiteSarah’s love of flowers began in her grandmother and mother's cutting gardens. Sumptuous, freshly-cut blooms would be arranged and placed on the camp porch, wafting their sweet perfumes the summer's day long. Sarah's childhood hikes through the Adirondacks would inspire creative mystical musings from the wildflowers, boughs, sticks, and stones.
As an adult in the 90s, Sarah grew an interest in floral design while living in the East Village surrounded by artful ateliers. It wasn't until Sarah met and married her husband, Jay White, that a collaborative vision was created for a business surrounding their two interests -- flowers and wine. Returning to the familiar Adirondack Park, Sarah and Jay left New York City and bought a farm in Essex, NY where Jay would plant a vineyard and Sarah could realize her niche in floral design services. While hundreds of grape vines continue to grow and take root, Jay plays an integral role in assisting Sarah in the development, marketing, and growth of Boquet Valley Blooms. As a bride herself, Sarah had wanted metropolitan quality and sophistication entangled with the rustic mystery of the Adirondacks. Thus, she has made it her mission to provide the greater Adirondack community with services that speak to both the refined and the wilder imagination. Since completing certificates in Advanced Design and Wedding Design from the Flower School New York, Sarah holds a growing list of clients and offers workshops to the public. |
